Saturday, August 13. 2005Carpenter's Landing
 I didn't realize it until just recently, but there is an entrance to Carpenter's Landing in North San d'Oria! It's right across from the Blacksmith's Guild (F-5 on the map). The wooden door leads to North Landing which is a nice place to battle beasts solo for any adventurer around level 19 or so. When I went there, I was already level 23 so I decided to venture out further. I took the barge via the main waterway to Central Landing. The barge takes a long time and it lands fairly infrequently at the dock. When finally I saw one dock, I was told by the attendant that it was out-of-commission and if I could wait, another would be by shortly. Finally, another barge came and I bought a multi-ticket then boarded the wooden barge.
  The pilot, Ineuteniace is an older gentleman who likes to talk, but he makes the trip feel shorter. I was amazed to see a Tonberry riding on the barge too! His name was Roi and I tried to strike up a conversation with him. When he didn't really respond to me, I kept my distance - the Tonberry are a strange race. When I finally reached Central Landing, I spent some time fighting Pugils, Orcs, Beetles and the occasional FlyTrap (which are pretty sturdy creatures despite their look). The battles were great but sometimes the Orcs would get really aggressive and these situations were very hard to deal with. In all, Carpenter's Landing is a very beautiful area. It is somewhat dangerous (depending on your level), especially if you venture to South Landing. There aren't a whole lot of adventurers passing through this area, so if you're about to get knocked out, try to do it near the dock.  (This actually happened to me a couple times while I was fighting  - those damn Orc aggression situations)I'll be going back to Carpenter's Landing just for the view and the fishing! Trackbacks
