Scattered Into Shadow

Getting to the underground pools was no big deal as long as Sparkkplug kept sneak cast on me. Once we reached the pools, I gave my offering of an aquaflora to each one. At the third pool, after I cast my aquaflora in, I felt a strange cold envelope me. Bobwtfps unsheathed his weapon and as I turned around I saw Dabotz's Ghost! The ghost had materialized behind me and Sparkkplug, Bobwtfps and SillySally were quick to attack it. Bob pulled the ghost into the hall to draw it away from the Droma (magic pots) that were hanging around the pools. We needed to be clear of the Droma so that our magic wouldn't aggravate the magic post. With Bob's, Sparkk's and Sally's powerful attacks, (and a little help from my crab familiar - CourierCarrie), we made quick work of banishing Dabotz's Ghost.

After the fight was over, a Galka Beastmaster appeared and thanked me for the offering to the dead Beastmasters. He said he would remember me and tell Brutus of my good deeds. I returned to Brutus who said he had heard from the Galka. He asked me if I could do something for him. He claimed that in Castle Oztroja, I could find a collar for the pet of an old beastmaster. The pet still roamed the halls of the castle and if I were to find it and place the collar on its neck, Brutus would reward me for my effort. The task didn't sound too tough so I decided I'd do as Brutus asked.

Sparkkplug, Bob, and Sally, came with me to Castle Oztroja and we spent many days fighting the Yagudo while looking for a chest key. At long last we found one and after we'd run through much of the castle, we found a treasure chest. I unlocked the chest and grabbed the beast collar from within. In moments, I'd located Tebhi - the old beastmaster's pet monkey and placed the collar around its neck.

As soon as I had collared Tebhi, the monkey vanished! Sparkkplug convinced me that the pet was in fact a ghost as well as the Galka we'd seen in Fei'Yin. He said that both the Beastmaster and Tebhi could now rest in peace because of our effort. Though I felt strange about my interaction with ghosts, I certainly did feel as if a more peacful clam had set in around where Tebhi was running just moments ago.

I warped back to Jeuno using my Treat Staff II and paid a visit to Brutus again. Brutus rewarded me with a pair of Beast Gaiters; Beastmaster artifact armor for the feet.
