I happened to talk to Excenmille the other day (D-9 on the map in South San d'Oria) and he recognized me as an adventurer. Not only that, he knew my name and said my loyalty to the kingdom is renown!
He asked if I would care to join other adventurers representing San d'Oria in Conflict. He went into a long story about the origin of conflict. It seems that officials from all of the three nations (San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst) and the Duchy of Jeuno met to discuss that state of their armies. Since the nations are at peace with each other and united against the beastmen, some of the nations feel their armies are suffering. There used to be an event where the three nations pitted their finest against each other in real combat. The events were collectively called "Conflict" and were banned due to their inherent danger. To make Excenmille's long story short, the nations agreed to bring the event back and Excenmille wanted me to help. He presented me with letters to deliver to the Conflict commanders in the other two nations (Bastok and Windurst). By doing this I will be granted a license to participate in the events. I haven't delivered the letters yet, but I will soon!
